The mission of the Center for Entrepreneurship in International Health and Development (CEIHD, pronounced “seed”) is to reduce poverty, improve health, and protect the environment by building sustainable projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

CEIHD implements projects that create valuable reductions in carbon emissions and leverages that value to improve health and development. To achieve impact at scale, CEIHD researches and develops innovative and replicable methods to increase the local benefits of climate mitigation projects worldwide.

We use concepts and methods drawn from business, finance, and economics to complement evidence from clinical and field research in finding solutions. We describe, design and promote financially sustainable systems that employ the skills and knowledge of local entrepreneurs as partners and eventual owners of this process.
